Meeting the Unique Financial Wellness Needs of First Responders

First responders risk their lives to protect their communities, so we’re happy to see so many credit unions give back to these essential community members by supporting them financially.

Special products and services can significantly benefit first responders. While Paperwork is designed to help all credit union members, our document organization, emergency contact, and education features can be especially beneficial to first responders.

Account and Document Organization

Given the inherently high-risk nature of first responders' professions, it's crucial for them to keep their important financial documents well organized. This includes keeping track of bank accounts, insurance policies and estate planning details to ensure that these vital documents are easily accessible to loved ones or trusted advisers in times of need. The challenge is compounded by the mix of digital and physical formats these documents often come in.

The Paperwork Organizer allows users to link accounts, scan, or upload documents and pictures, which are then categorized into intuitive categories. The Organizer acts as a digital vault, with bank-level security, so users can safely have any information they need, right at their fingertips.

By safely storing their documents, first responders can provide peace of mind for themselves and their families, knowing that their financial affairs are easily accessible, no matter what uncertainties their jobs may bring.

Emergency Contacts

Working in tandem with account and document organization, it’s essential for loved ones to have the ability to access key documents in case of an emergency. Our emergency contact feature allows users to add friends or family members as emergency contacts, providing them access to these documents if necessary.

The main user retains control over who can access their documents and when. In case the user becomes incapacitated, they can set a specific timeline – typically three days – after which we will grant access to their emergency contact if they don't respond. Users can revoke access at any time, and emergency contacts have view-only access documents, accounts, and photos in the Organizer.

Bite-sized Education

Recognizing the demanding and unpredictable schedules of first responders, our financial wellness solution is tailored to fit into their fast-paced lives. At the core of this approach are bite-sized learning modules, designed to deliver personalized financial advice in manageable segments. These modules empower first responders with actionable financial knowledge in just a few minutes each week.

As a mobile-first solution, we also provide the convenience of helping them track their finances with timely reminders and alerts. This ensures that first responders can stay on top of their financial wellness journey, no matter where their duty calls them.
